CBD and Mushrooms Blends

There are plenty of cannabidiol (CBD) blends on the market. These include teas, tinctures, capsules, food and beverages. The popular capsule brand Caps by Cookies has created an innovative capsule supplement that combines mushrooms and cannabis. [1]

 

How Does it Work?

These capsules use a blend of cannabidiol (CBD), cannabigerol (CBG), cannabinol (CBN), and terpenes from cannabis plant. Moreover these capsules include two different kind of mushrooms, the Hericium erinaceus also known as lion’s mane and mushrooms from Cordyceps genus. Each of these natural ingredients gives these capsules peculiar therapeutic benefits. It is important to analyse each of these ingredients to understand how they work and what they do for your body.

 

CBD

CBD is the main ingredient in these blends and the most popular. CBD’s properties help treat some of the most common bodily issues. These properties are:

  • Antipsychotic
  • Anti-parkinson’s
  • Antiepileptic
  • Sleep aid
  • Mood stability
  • Eases pain

CBG

CBG is usually present in minor percentages in cannabis plants compared to CBD. Nevertheless its features contribute to the overall health benefit of cannabis derived products. Properties of CBG include:

CBN

CBN is a degradation product of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and it can be mildly psychoactive. A few common properties are:

Terpenes

Terpenes give the aroma of cannabis and essential oils. By including terpenes with cannabinoids, therapeutic benefits are enhanced. [5]

 

Lion’s Mane

Lion’s Mane mushrooms are found growing on dead hardwood trees. These mushrooms have been used in Asian countries for medicine and to cook. Some of their properties include:

Cordyceps

Cordyceps are a type of parasitic fungus that lives on caterpillars. There are 600 species of cordyceps. Some of their properties include:

  • Anti-cancer
  • Anti-aging
  • Anti-depressant

The combination of these cannabinoids and mushrooms creates a unique product that can be use as a daily food-supplement. The effects of each ingredient could lead to a better quality of life, due to their properties.
